Obiettivi formativi
È specifico obiettivo dell'insegnamento lo studio della democrazia ateniese, delle sue istiituzioni e della sua storia attraverso l'analisi di casi di studio significativi all'interno della storia greca antica.
Questo contesto di ricerca favorisce nello studente l'acquisizione e la sperimentazione degli strumenti fondamentali del metodo storico per la ricostruzione e l'interpretazione del passato.
The specific aim of the course is the study of the Athenian democracy, its institutions and history by means of meaningful case studies related to ancient Greek world.
This research context fosters the student's acquisition and experience of the basic tools of the historical method for the reconstruction of the past through literary, but not necessarily historiographical, sources.

- conoscenze approfondite della storia, delle istituzioni democratiche e delle trasformazioni sociali di Atene e della Grecia antica;

The expected learning outcomes are:
- in-depth knowledge of the Athenian history, of democratic institutions and of social changes with respect to Athens and ancient Greece;
- consolidated skills and abilities in the historical exegesis of literary sources (historiographical and not historiographical).

Modalità di insegnamento
Lezioni in aula della durata complessiva di 36 ore (6 cfu) con l'ausilio di strumenti multimediali (proiezione di materiale di sintesi e delle fonti antiche analizzate). Per la preparazione all'esame lo studente potrà contare, oltre alle ore di lezione, sul materiale condiviso on line (incluso l'audio delle lezioni stesse) e su specifici incontri di preparazione all'esame prima di ogni sessione di esame (particolarmente utili per gli studenti che non possono essere presente alle lezioni in aula).
The lectures, which total 36 hours (6 cfu), will be held in classroom and accompanied by projections of multimedia resources. In order to be prepared for the exam, in addition to class hours, the student will rely on the material shared on-line (including the audio of the lessons themselves and some suggestions on self-evaluation) and specific meetings about exam preparation before each examination session (particularly useful for students who cannot be present at classroom lectures).

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
Il metodo di accertamento e verifica prevede la strutturazione del colloquio orale su parti distinte del programma dettagliatamente precisate a lezione. Oltre alla conoscenza dei contenuti proposti a lezione la valutazione concerne la capacità di esposizione, la precisione nell'uso del linguaggio, la rielaborazione dei contenuti in attuazione del metodo storico.
The assessment consists of an oral test about distinct parts of the program as it will be precisely stated during the lessons. In addition to the knowledge of the contents offered in the lessons, the evaluation concerns the ability of exposition, the precision in the use of language, the working-out of the contents implementing the historical method.

La democrazia ateniese: le origini, lo sviluppo storico, i protagonisti, le istituzioni, le leggi
Lettura e commento critico della Costituzione degli Ateniesi dello Pseudo Senofonte e, in parallelo, di alcuni passi di altre fonti significative (in particolare del genere letterario delle costituzioni, anche in forma frammentaria) in relazione ai principali momenti di trasformazione politica e istituzionale della polis di Atene.
Athenian democracy: origins, historical development, protagonists, institutions, laws.
Reading and critical commentary of the Pseudo Xenophon Constitution of the Athenians and, in parallel, the passages of other significant sources (in particular literary genre of the constitutions, also in framments) in relation to the main moments of institutional and political transformation of the polis of Athens.

Questo insegnamento è parte del modulo didattico aggregato Storia greca (Cuniberti-Bianco), cfu 12/6: lo studente che deve acquisire soltanto 6 cfu può scegliere liberamente tra le due parti costituenti il modulo aggregato, il quale, nella somma delle due parti, consente invece l'acquisizione di 12 cfu.
Esclusivamente per gli studenti Erasmus è prevista l'eventualità di sostenere l'esame in inglese o francese.
N.B.: Insegnamento rivolto anche agli studenti che hanno inserito nel loro piano carriera l'insegnamento di STORIA SOCIALE ED ECONOMICA DELLA GRECIA ANTICA in anni accademici precedenti.
This course is part of the aggregate learning module Greek History (Cuniberti-Bianco) cfu 12/6: the student who needs to acquire only 6 cfu can freely choose between the two parts of the aggregate module, which, on the other hand, can be summed up to acquire 12 cfu.
Only for Erasmus students It will be allowed to take the exam in English or French.
N.B .: Teaching also addressed to students who have included in their career plan the teaching of SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC HISTORY OF THE ANCIENT GREECE in previous academic years.
